Masataka Saburi

Mr Saburi is an Associate Professor of Economic Research Institute, Kyoto University.  He joined Ministry of International Trade and Industry (Current Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI)) in 1991 after he received a bachelor degree in Economics from Kyoto University. In 2001, he worked as a first secretary of Japan Embassy in Egypt, then, in 2004, became a deputy director of financial cooperation Division, Trade and International Cooperation Bureau of METI. In 2006, he served as an associate professor at School of Public Policy, Tohoku University for 2 years, then, in 2008, became a director at Policy Planning and Research Office, Policy Bureau of MITI.  After worked as a director of Information and International Policy Office of Commerce and Information Policy Bureau of MITI in 2009 and Flower Industrial Promotion Office of Production Bureau of Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in 2010, he is serving at Kyoto University.  His expertise is Innovation Policy and Social Medicine (How to solve social problems).
