QASMT (Queensland Academy for Science, Mathematics and Technology) is a state funded school for students in Years 10-12. It is located in Toowong in Brisbane, which is considered a mid-high socio-economic area, although students are drawn from a broad range of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. Currently there are 438 students attending the school, with the capacity for 450 maximum. The QASMT opened in 2007.

The curriculum offered is the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program which is a globally recognised senior secondary curriculum. Throughout the two years of study, students will complete, in the majority, formative pieces of assessment which contribute to reporting grades at QASMT. The IBO assessment requirements for each subject include both examinations and Internal Assessments, all of which are externally written, marked and moderated. Students must study six subjects, in addition to Theory of Knowledge, Extended Essay (a 4000 word dissertation on a topic of students' choice), and participate in 150 hours of creativity, action and service activities. The QASMT is a one-to-one laptop school.

The QASMT is a selective entry school, whereby students are academically selected through testing and interview process. The student cohort is academically adept with high academic aspirations. There is an anticipation that the majority of students will continue with science based tertiary studies.
